Sleep is important for us to be our best selves.  I specialized in sleep medicine because it is such a core part of who we are.  It is also one of the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine, in which I’m also trained.  Sleep allows the body and brain to rest and reset so we can meet each new day fresh and focused.

If you are having trouble with your sleep, talk with your primary care provider.  Together you can form a plan for better sleep.  In some cases, your provider may wish to refer you to me, as part of that plan.  Our staff will have you complete the New Patient Secure Online Google Form below.  Once we get that back they will schedule your appointment.

I will see you in clinic and we will put together a plan for how to improve your sleep. We can also talk about what to expect from any further testing or treatment as we go along.  Seeing the life changing effects of improved sleep is amazing! It really can benefit your whole mind and body.

March 2025: UPDATE: Obstructive sleep apnea is associated with an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease, but early use of continuous positive airway pressure therapy can mitigate this risk, according to a study of Veterans Affairs data presented at an American Academy of Neurology meeting. “It is encouraging to know that while obstructive sleep apnea may increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease, treating it right away with CPAP may reduce that risk,” said Dr. Gregory Scott of the VA Portland Health Care System.

Are you ready to HACK YOUR HEALTH?  Small changes in your lifestyle can lead to long term permanent health improvement.  Medical breakthroughs over the last 10 years have helped Lifestyle Medicine doctors understand better than ever the true causes of some of our worst chronic illnesses, such as obesity, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, chronic pain, memory loss, high cholesterol, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and autoimmune diseases just to name a few.  The best news in a decade is that YOU have more control over your health than you know.

If you could greatly improve these diseases or even reverse them, would you?  Does that sound silly?  Of course you would!  No one would suffer needlessly.  Unfortunately, due to a lack of knowledge most are doing just that.  Can you imagine the smile on your doctor’s face when they review your improved labs.  Your friends and family may shower you with questions:  “How did you do it? What was it like?”  You could be part of the next wave of medical care.  The one that has to do with you having control over your own illnesses.  Reducing or even eliminating diseases that may have plagued your family for generations.  Would you be interested in that?  Lifestyle Medicine is one of the newest branches of medicine with the first Lifestyle medicine doctors graduating in 2017.  That makes it newer than alternative medicine, integrative medicine or even functional medicine.  Dr. David Anderson and his wife Annette completed their training in 2020.

They have put together a Hack Your Health program.  This program is for those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired.  It is for those that aren’t asking for something for nothing, but also have the good sense to grab an opportunity when it comes to them.  If you are ready for a real change, but don’t know how to make sense of all the “health advice” you see on modern media, then this program is for you.  We cut through all of that with a simple plan with straight forward steps that anyone can follow.  The best part is you are part of a supportive team every step of the way.  Want to know more?  Come in and have an appointment with Dr. Anderson to talk about your health concerns and learn more about the program.  It’s time to take back your health!  (501) 712-1998
